The prosthodontists at Boston Prosthodontics Dental Group in Boston, MA, are among the most highly skilled doctors who can address multiple oral health issues. With specialized training, our doctors can address problems such as bone degeneration, cavities, and missing teeth. Through our preventive, restorative, and cosmetic dentistry services, we can restore the form and function of your smile and help you maintain good oral health. Although a prosthodontist can address many of the same oral health concerns as a general dentist, because of a prosthodontist's additional training, conditions associated with missing or severely damaged teeth can be addressed without the need to see multiple doctors in different locations.
Prosthodontists vs. Dentists
Compared to general dentists, prosthodontists have three additional years of specialized training in the American Dental Association accredited graduate program. After completion of the program, prosthodontists are considered experts in the rehabilitation of smiles through cosmetic and restorative treatments such as dental crowns, dental implants, porcelain veneers, dental bridges, dentures, and more.
Prosthodontists are regularly called upon to design treatment plans for patients with missing or damaged teeth in order to help improve comfort, restore dental function, and enhance smiles. Seeing a specialist in this field of dentistry can help ensure you achieve a successful outcome.
