More Than Just A Dentist

Technician crafting a denture

While a prosthodontist is a dentist, not all dentists are prosthodontists. A prosthodontist specializes in the design, fabrication, and placement of restorations to repair or replace missing or damaged teeth. A dentist must complete a minimum of three additional years of advanced training after dental school to become a prosthodontist. Training consists of thorough clinical and lecture-based preparation in a number of sciences and surgical techniques. This allows prosthodontists to treat complex dental conditions, perform full-mouth reconstructions, correct TMJ disorders, remedy congenital disorders such as cleft palate, and provide relief from sleep apnea.

The team of world renowned prosthodontists at our Boston, MA, practice provide top-class service to our patients. Each of our prosthodontists has an extensive knowledge of modern dental technology, techniques, and science to provide unparalleled service and comprehensive care. Each of our doctors has extensive training in the field of general dentistry and an advanced understanding of material science. This allows our prosthodontists to combine their substantial knowledge of science and quality esthetic dentistry with their compassion and desire to offer patients the highest standard of dental care.

Dental Implants

a model of dental implants

A lost tooth does more than have an impact on your smile: it affects the state of your oral and overall health as well. The roots of a tooth provide crucial stimulation to your gums and the bone tissue in your jaw, which in turn keeps your jawbone strong and healthy. When a tooth is lost, the lack of stimulation provided by the dental roots causes the underlying bone tissue to begin to deteriorate.

Without treatment, jawbone atrophy gets progressively worse. At first, the surrounding teeth start to shift. This affects the effectiveness of your bite, making chewing and speaking increasingly difficult. As the bone continues to deteriorate, the potential for the loss of additional teeth is heightened. Not only will this exacerbate the underlying issue of jawbone atrophy, it can cause your face to become sunken, causing you to appear older than your years.

Dental implants are the only treatment that not only restores the form and function to your smile, but can stop jawbone atrophy. The titanium base of dental implants not only provides a stable foundation for restorations such as bridges, crowns, and dentures, but acts in place of the missing root structure. Once fused to your jawbone, dental implants provide the same stimulation as tooth roots, restoring the health and strength to your smile.

Implant-Supported Dentures

Model of implant-supported dentures

Implant dentistry provides a myriad of dental health benefits to a wide range of patients. Those who have lost a majority of their teeth, and require a full or partial denture, can take advantage of the stability offered by implant-supported dentures. Implants provide an incredibly secure platform for dental restorations and can provide life-changing results for patients with large gaps in their smile.

Restoring lost teeth with traditional removable partial or full dentures is an effective way to fill gaps in your smile, but it does not address the underlying issue of jawbone atrophy. Patients with missing teeth are likely familiar with the issue of bone loss, and the negative impact it has on their overall well being. Dentures require adjustments as remaining teeth continue to shift as atrophy progresses.

The security and dental health benefits of implant-supported dentures simply cannot be matched by traditional options. Traditional dentures can shift, click while speaking, and make eating a challenge. They also require messy adhesives. With a restoration securely attached to strategically placed implants, you can not only speak, eat, and smile with confidence, but the implant itself can put a stop to further jawbone atrophy.

Porcelain Veneers

a beautiful smile with veneers

Minor cosmetic imperfections can have a significant effect on the first impression you make when meeting someone for the first time. It can also affect how you perceive yourself, which in turn can lead to a lack in self-confidence. If your smile is compromised due to cracks, chips, gaps, misalignment, or stubborn stains that do not respond to professional whitening treatment, our dentists can enhance your appearance with veneers crafted at our world-class, on-site laboratory. We utilize only the finest materials available to create stunning smiles with porcelain veneers at our Boston, MA, dentist office. Transform your smile and boost your self-esteem with veneers from our expert prosthodontists.

Dental Crowns

Dental crowns

A tooth compromised by trauma or decay can cause pain and make chewing and speaking difficult. A crown can repair and protect an affected tooth, providing protection from further damage. Many times, it can prevent the need for extraction. Crafted in our state-of-the-art, on-site laboratory of the highest-quality materials, a crown placed by one of our talented doctors will blend seamlessly with your surrounding teeth. Because these restorations are developed to mimic the light-reflecting properties of dental enamel, your incredibly natural-looking results will be virtually indistinguishable from the rest of your smile and will provide you with years of comfort and protection.

Full Mouth Rehabilitation

Our on-site laboratory uses the finest materials available and allows us to offer patients world-class restorations with unparalleled aesthetics. Undergoing a full mouth rehabilitation can transform your smile, improving your health, self-confidence, and overall quality of life.
